Payment Policy

CONFIDENTAL PAYMENT POLICY

At ConfiDental, we do not ask for an advance deposit, but we do require that payment for dental services is made before starting any dental procedure.

CASH

Visitors are allowed to bring up to $10,000 in cash without reporting to the tax authorities. We recommend that guests who want to pay in cash bring $9900 to stay under the $10,000 threshold. We can receive this money immediately upon your arrival and hold it in our safe.

WIRE TRANSFERS

Patients may wire transfer their payment to our USA or Costa Rica bank accounts. Please check with your bank to learn their wire transfer protocol. We generally request that patients wire their payment at least 2-4 days in advance of their treatment to ensure that payment has been made prior to treatment.

CREDIT CARDS

You may make payment via credit card before treatment, while in the USA or Costa Rica. If you plan to use credit card, please advise your credit card company/bank, so that they are aware of your international use.

Your dental care will be priced for cash payment. If you would like to use a credit card, you will need to pay a 5% fee, which is what the banks charge our clinic for processing credit card payments. To get the best prices on your dental care, please plan to pay in cash.

OTHER PAYMENT OPTIONS

We accept wire transfers (ask us for bank routing instructions)

If you wish to pay in advance by wire transfer, please allow a minimum of 7 business days in case there are any glitches. Of course, if you have an emergency or cannot come for some reason, your money will be refunded

WE DO NOT ACCEPT

Travelers’ Checks: Travelers checks are not popular in Costa Rica. You would need to find a bank here that will cash them for you prior to your procedure. American Express lists various branches of Scotiabank as places that will cash them.

Personal Checks: Costa Rica banks hold personal checks for up to 30 days before they clear.

Cashier or Bank Checks: They are not negotiable instruments here as they are in the USA, so the banks hold them like a personal check.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT NOTE

The law on income tax and the law on general sales tax are reformed in its entirety. It establishes the new rate for (VAT) value added tax to 13%. It was published on December 4th, 2018 under law number 9635 and becomes effective as of July 1st, 2019.
